Aquatics Supervisor Job Description
Reports to: General Manager/Owners
Description: SwimLabs® Aquatics Supervisors are responsible for upholding and teaching in accordance to the SwimLabs® Swim School teaching certification and curriculum. The Aquatics Supervisor drive successful SwimLabs business through excellence on the aquatics side of the business.
The candidate should have knowledge of current competitive swimming techniques

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
  • Hiring, Training, and Developing People
  • Training of SwimLabs Instructors: Facilitation of the entire training program for SwimLabs instructors, including the curriculum and practical training of the SwimLabs Level 1 and Level 2 programs. 
  • Must be able to communicate detailed SwimLabs training programs to instructors with various levels of experience
  • Maintain the high standard of teaching requirements of SwimLabs Swim School.
  • Detailed management of training schedules to make sure that training requirements are met
  • Instructor Review Program: Facilitation of Quarterly and Annual reviews for all instructors. 
  • Scheduling and management of the Quarterly Review process, which includes management of the Peer-to-Peer program
  • In collaboration with the SwimLabs Director of Operations, conducting and communicating annual reviews for all instructors
  • Must be able to critique instructor performance and communicate feedback effectively 
  • Must be able to identify instructor deficiencies and provide supplemental training
  • Ongoing Education: Development and communication of ongoing education material to instructors. Poolroom Management: Management of all poolroom operations.
  • Keeps the poolroom clean and operational to high SwimLabs standards
  • Manages equipment and keeps all functionality at all times
  • Delegates responsibilities to staff and oversees teamwork 
  • Staff Culture: Developing and continuing a positive work environment for all staff that maintains exceptional lesson quality and outstanding customer service.
  • Maintaining a safe, secure, and legal work environment
  • Developing a team-like atmosphere that encourages instructors to collaborate and learn from each other
  • Implementation of team-building activities that lead to employee retention
Work closely with SwimLabs Owners on many business-related duties including, but not limited to:
  • Recruiting, selecting, and converting prospective applicants into SwimLabs Instructors
  • Scheduling training, classes, staff availability, and ongoing education
  • Teach swimming lessons at all levels
  • Be able to assist with front desk duties as needed
  • Be able to attend events as needed
  • Assist with training of new instructors
Other Duties:
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management, including teaching swim lessons as needed
Position Qualifications and Requirements:
  • 3+ years of swim instruction experience is required.
  • Competitive swimming background is a plus
  • 3+ years of supervisory roles
  • Current American Red Cross CPR-PR/AED, First Aid for adults and infant required.
  • WSI certification preferred.
  • Training in the SwimLabs® curriculum will be provided.
  • Must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds in weight.
Uniforms:
Instructors are required to wear SwimLabs® uniforms. SwimLabs® Swim School will provide one uniform upon hiring. Upon termination/resignation, employees are to return their uniform or cover the cost of replacement from their last paycheck. 

Hours: 30-40 hours per week
Compensation: Commensurate with experience and skills
Compensation: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
